Sunny Surprise Proposal on the cliffs of Malibu, California

One of my favorite parts of my job (and let’s be honest, that’s a long list!!) is being there to capture the raw and romantic moments of love happening between a couple. Be it some sweet kisses at their engagement session, soft moments during their first dance, or those romantic glances that you think only happens in movies. I love it all, and truly none more than when I have the honor of capturing the proposal – the moment the future is set and their lives are changed. It’s such a special moment, and when Sarfraz reached out to me to help plan theirs I was thrilled! He and his then girlfriend (now fiancé!!!) were planning to take a trip from Toronto, Canada to Malibu, and what better place and time to propose than sunny California!

El Matador Beach Surprise Proposal

Easily one of my favorite beaches, and one you’ll see frequently on my page!! Sarfraz knew exactly where he wanted this proposal to be, and I knew just how to bring his vision to life. I set-up this sweet picnic spot for them and got the champagne and glasses ready! This cliff overlooking El Matador Beach was absolutely perfect. We got the sunset behind them along with the beautiful water and rocks – basically everything you’d want about Malibu in one place!

After she said yes, we popped the champagne and celebrated with a soft sunset and smiles all around! It was such an honor to capture this moment for them, and so much fun to celebrate together. After taking some photos with the picnic set-up and champagne, we traveled down to the beach for the rest of their engagement session. I always include a full session with proposals, because you’re going to want to celebrate the moment and be able to relive the day again!!

It really was the perfect day for Sarfraz and Simran, and I’m so lucky to have been able to capture this special memory for them.
